Ways to Contribute

Thank you for considering a gift to Big Brothers Big Sisters of East Tennessee.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of East Tennessee is recognized by the IRS as a 501(c)(3), non-profit organization. As such, all gifts to Big Brothers Big Sisters of East Tennessee are fully tax-deductible. However, your gifts represent much more than a tax deduction. Your gifts provide the meaningful difference in what we do and touches young lives in ways that will go far into the future. You may make gifts of cash, stock, real estate, and personal property. You may also arrange to have a set amount charged to your Visa or Master Card account each month or each quarter.

Ways to Make a Difference

Monetary Donations

  • You may give a monetary donation by mailing your donation and the mail in donation form to the office. These gifts can be an undesignated gift or you may designate the gift to support any of the following:
    • One of the specific counties we serve (Anderson, Blount, Hawkins, Knox, Loudon, Roane, Scott, Sullivan, and Washington).
    • Day-to-day operational costs
    • Traditional Community-Based Mentoring program
      On average:
         Traditional Community Based Mentoring - Annual Cost Per Child: $1,000
    • School-Based Mentoring Program
      On average:
         School Based Mentoring - Annual Cost Per Child: $500
    • Assisting with the cost of matching "Bigs" to "Littles"

  • You may make a gift in honor or in memory of a loved one. With these gifts we ask that you give us the name of the person, their relationship to you, and their address so that we can send notification to them to inform them of your gift.

Sponsorships

  • You may be a part of our special events by participating or serving as a sponsor. For further details regarding Bowl For Kids’ Sake, Scott County Little Big Dinner or other current events, please contact Sharon Moore, Chief Development Officer at (865) 523-2179 ext. 21 (or toll-free at 888-523-2179 ext. 21).

Items & Other Ways

  • You may donate items to help our agency. These help us to better serve our volunteers and children, provide wonderful outings for our matches, and help us to celebrate our match anniversaries with our "Bigs." Items that we are in need of are:
    • Gift certificates
    • Tickets to special events and sporting events
    • Office Supplies: copy paper, colored paper, etc.
    • Games and books
    • and more!
  • Help us collect ink jet cartridges. Your help with this recycling program will assist our organization while also helping the environment!

Bequests

  • You may include us in your estate plans by naming Big Brothers Big Sisters of East Tennessee in your will, as a beneficiary of a life insurance policy or your IRA/retirement plan. If you do, please notify BBBS of your plans.
